When I was in Rome over the summer I bought this highlighter in a huge beauty/pharmacy shop there. I wish we had more of these type of beauty pharmacys, as they always seem to have a good mix of skincare and beauty, and there is never a pushy saleswoman hanging around. Anyway, theBalm is a brand that I had heard of, but not seen in real life (I don't know if any UK stores stock it, other than online) so I had a good peruse of the stand. I had planned to get Dior Amber Diamond highlighter but they hadn't got any in duty free, so I thought I'd have a go with the Mary-Lou Manizer.
It comes in cute packing, with retro images, and Benefit-style wording. It also has a handy mirror in the lid.
The highlighter is a pale gold champagne colour and isn't glittery or too shimmery. I'm fairly pale skinned, and this is a cool-gold that goes well with my skintone, orange-toned golds don't do me any favours. As it is a cool toned highlighter, its may not work as well for darker skin tones. The powder is very soft and blendable, which avoids that glitterball look. I've wore it on a few occasions now and its definitely lasts 6+ hours.

I've been applying it with an ordinary blush brush on the tops of my cheeks, and as a brow highlight. Mine cost 14 euro, and you get a lot of product; I can't see this running out anytime soon. Overall I'm really pleased with it, and its been a great introduction to theBalm so I will be taking a look at some of their other products. Have you had anything from theBalm?
